Integration of the body's systems, helps to discover root causes for disorders which respond clinically through a personalized approach to your care. Throughout my career, I've chosen to expand on extensive conventional training, which has greatly enhanced the results our clients have achieved.
Caring for and maintaining the body’s health is a process of integrating treatment methods - not separating them. At The Center for Intentional Health, the proven functional medicine method addresses the unified systems of your body to correct imbalances, illness and disease. Incorporating all of the forms above including Lifestyle Medicine (as an alternative medicine model), the programs and approach at The Center for Intentional Health is comprehensive, holistic and patient-centered.
The concept of “functional medicine” was developed from the theory that medical care is an act of integration, not separation. From that integration we can discover the cause of illness, and treat the origin of disease and its effect on the whole body. Instead of simply addressing different symptoms across separate areas, functional medicine identifies the issues that, when combined, affect the functioning of each system of your whole body. The principles that characterize the care provided through the Functional Medicine approach are as follows:
~ Medical practitioners prioritize quality of care over the quantity of patients in their practice. A practitioner will only make a medical diagnosis after listening carefully to a patient’s history, documenting their personal choices and medicinal interactions.
~Assessment and prevention are prioritized over wait-and-see treatment approaches. Lifestyle interventions or modification are often implemented first, if applicable. In some cases, conventional methods are necessary (imaging, labs, medications, etc.) to avoid complications worsening, as other modalities and interventions are employed.
~Patients are not to feel that they have taken on a passive role in their own health. Instead, they are to be armed with information and encouraged to take an active role in improving their outcomes ...
Intentional Health!
Utilizing the Functional Medicine approach, combined with state-of-the-art integrative and regenerative therapies for support, provides patients, who have been searching for solutions for years, to finally see results.
(Celiac, SIBO, IBS/IBD, UC)
With years of experience in various roles in nursing and rehabilitation, I recognized long ago, the enormous value that the emerging fields of Integrative and Functional Medicine would offer clients. For decades, I felt "out in the field by myself" but remained convicted to my ideals of providing health care differently. I have sought additional training in several of these areas and have had unique opportunities to train and work with some of the most respected leaders in these fields. Yes, I found others in "fields" of their own - many of whom I am still close, or in touch with to this day. I remain intrigued and excited to learn more, as our collective knowledge of the human condition expands.
I am equally committed to learning about you and getting to the root cause of your symptoms. This begins with a thorough health history - listening to you and hearing your story. You will never wait for an appointment or for your call to be returned, and you will always have generous time to go over any concerns or questions.
From there, together we will devise a plan of care and utilize both conventional and functional medicine lab testing and interventions as needed to identify and treat the unique 'indicators of cause' with which we can measure your progress. The functional medicine model for the provision of healthcare provides a distinct foundation for education and support for my clients on their journey to healing and optimal health. Based upon your health history, symptoms and current state of health, your goals and the test findings, we will develop an individualized treatment protocol to optimize your wellness journey.
We utilize integrative therapies to support your recovery such as Nutritional IV's, Clinical Nutrition Counseling, the WAVi Brain Scan qEEG & Neuroptimal Neurobiofeedback, Functional Neurology, HeartMath, Regenerative Therapies including Advanced Clinical Peptides, BHRT, Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP), PEMF, Photobiomodulation and more!
My mission is to offer personalized medical care through the functional medicine model combined with integrative healing modalities to help clients live their healthiest and fullest lives. I support my clients autonomy and encourage them to efficiently manage control over their bodies and health ~ I believe that your destiny does not need to be defined by a diagnoses ... because there is a better way!
